Inflatable Boat Floors

Mercury Inflatable boats are equipped with a variety of flooring constructions, each providing a distinct set of advantages for different uses, conditions, and applications.

One of the determining factors in the manufacture of a rigid inflatable boat (RIB) is the lamination of its deck. Mercury VITECH RIBs are extremely well-reinforced, employing a system of sandwich lamination known as VITECH, or Vacuum Injection TECHnology. Between layers, additional structure support rods are inserted for added strength. The VITECH process utilizes both robotic production and skilled labor, in conjunction with high-quality raw materials, to achieve an excellent strength-to-weight ratio.

Heavy Duty boats also incorporate reinforced aluminum floorboards to live up to the model name. The aluminum floorboards are easily installed and provide the same, if not more, stability than our Sport fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) floor. Along with toughness, the aluminum floor provides a non-slip surface to enhance your traction in wet and slick conditions.

Fiber-Reinforced Polymer (FRP)

Mercury’s FRP floorboards offer the following advantages:
  • Waterproof
  • No degradation
  • Long-lasting
  • Buoyant
  • More flexible than a wooden floorboard
  • Lower thermal conductivity than an aluminum floorboard
  • Lower cost than an aluminum floorboard

Air (X-Stitched)

Mercury’s high-pressure air floor offers quick assembly and small storage space while still providing excellent support. Thousands of X-stitched fibers give the Mercury air floor 50% more rigidity than traditional air floor systems.

The Dynamic and Ocean Runner RIBs offer a fiberglass hull which incorporates a stable and firm deck floor. The fiberglass floor allows the stability and performance you expect while maintaining the overall low weight of the boat. To ensure safety while entering/exiting, the fiberglass floor has a non-skid deck to eliminate the slippery conditions of water activities.

Teak Decking

Low-maintenance, non-slip teak laminate decking is both durable and stylish.
